In 2002, Beijing suburbs grasped the chances of entering WTO and preparing the Olympic Games, improved the investment environment, expanded various investment attraction modes, extended foreign trade, strengthened foreign economic & technology cooperation. Foreign trade kept good development tendency.

　　In 2002, 761 foreign invested enterprise passed the examination, the total investment amount reached 1.4 billion dollar, increasing 28% than that of 2001, the practically used foreign investment amount reached 0.77 billion dollar, increasingd 28% than that of last year. By the end of 2002, 6886 enterprises invested in Beijing suburbs, investment amount reached 15.91 billion Yuan, contract-using foreign investment reached 6.96 billion dollar, practically used foreign investment reached 5.83 billion dollar.

　　Self-own Investment Enterprises Increased, Investment Fields Were Expanded.

　　In 2002, 434 self–own foreign investment enterprises passed the examination, exceeded the amount of cooperating investment enterprises for the first time. Investment industrial distribution was more reasonable. 382 enterprises invested in the first and the second industries, 379 enterprises invested in the third industry. Among the enterprises investing in the third industry, 273 enterprises invested in the fields of information consultant and computer application, occupying 27% of total enterprises investing in the third enterprises. For the first time, foreign investment hospital and nursery appeared in Beijing suburbs.

　　Investment Scale Increased

　　The average investment scale of these enterprises reached 1.81 million dollar, increasing 34% than that of last year. The average investment scale of foreign investors reached 890 thousand dollar, increasing 16% than that of 2001. 31 enterprises’investment amount exceeded 10 million dollar.

　　Investment Came From More Countries and Areas

　　The investment came from Hong Kong was on the top place; the second one was Korea and the third one was USA. The investments come from Cyprus, Iran and Congo appeared in Beijing suburbs for the first time.

　　In 2002, Beijing suburbs used city-management thoughts, according to optimizing management system, explored various investment methods of satellite cities. The financial investment channels of city construction were greatly widened. The city functions and citizens’living quality were improved greatly.

　　In 2002, Beijing suburbs released 95 important investment attraction projections; the total investment value reached 0.7 billion dollar, attended Beijing International Exhibition, Beijing & Hong Kong Economy Research Convention, France International Food Exhibition, signed 88 cooperation projection compacts, total investment value reached 0.436 billion dollar. The cooperation fields and import &export channels were expanded. Lots of new projections for example Chestnut produced in Huairou District exported to UK had been realized.

　　In 2002, according to four grades township planning structure of“satellite city- center town-ordinary town-center village”, Beijing suburbs promoted township construction, the citification level was raised. By the end of 200, the amount of resident farmers living in suburbs area reached 3.29 million Yuan, reduced 1290 thousand. The increased value of non-agriculture occupied 86.4% of total GPD, increasing 1.3%. The certification rate reached 71%, increasing 1.5% than that of last year.

　　In 2002, environment protection that focused on exterminating dirt and confusion, promoting virescence and beautification had got obvious development. In Beijing suburbs, environment protection investment reached 2.713 billion Yuan, 440 projection had been finished, among them, 31 important municipal grade projections were invested 1.211 billion Yuan. The amount of newly planted trees reached 44 million. The amount of newly finished green ground reached 400 thousand Mu. The amount of abandoned farmland, where people planted trees again reached 400 thousand Mu. An ecological aisle and a green channel had formed. 1770 villages reached the standards of virescence, beautification, and cleanliness; occupying 48% of the total village amount, 1082 villages reached a higher protection level.

　　In 2002, Beijing suburbs’export supply value reached 7.69 billion Yuan, for the first time exceeded 7 billion Yuan, increasing 16.8% than that of last year. Export industry structure optimized continuously. Agriculture product export ability of planting and breeding industries increased steadily. The export of agriculture product, garment and textile continued steady increasing. The export of mechanism, communication production, medicines, food and beverage industries got new development. 185 enterprises got self-management export qualification, the amount of enterprises which has self-management export qualification reached 500, among them, 79 enterprises are farmers’enterprises.

　　In 2002, the facility construction and industry of center towns developed rapidly, the general economic strength was improved greatly. The assembly function, radiation function and absorption function to suburbs labors were increased obviously. The total facility investment of 33 center towns reached 5.3 billion Yuan, increasing 11.3% than that of 2201 and occupying 52% of suburbs’facility investment amount. Beijing suburbs attracted 500 projections and the reached capital reached 4.5 billion Yuan. GPD reached 13.5 billion Yuan, increasing 28.8% than that of last year and was higher 15.2% than that of the average increased speed of economic development of Beijing suburbs. The contribution rate to suburbs’economy reached 36.6%. In 2002, the amount of immigration that moved into town zones reached 130 thousand. The construction of a community that was financially supported by development bank had passed examination of development bank and 0.3 billion Yuan has received. The first construction period of the first digital construction demonstration town—Houshayu Town in ShunYi district had been finished.
